Annual Retreat 26
The CRC TRR 352 Annual Retreat took place from October 4 to 7, 2026, at the Georg-von-Vollmar-Akademie in Kochel am See. Researchers from across the CRC came together to present recent scientific results, discuss ongoing research, and exchange ideas for future collaborations.
The programme featured a series of scientific talks and discussion sessions. A particular highlight was a lively and fruitful discussion on “The Future of AI in Mathematical Physics”. Participants explored both the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence, including its potential impact on mathematical research and the future role of early-career scientists. The discussion also reflected concerns among younger researchers about these developments.
Taking advantage of the beautiful autumn weather, participants also enjoyed a hike through the scenic surroundings of Kochel am See. The outing provided a welcome break from the scientific programme and an opportunity to strengthen personal connections in a relaxed atmosphere.
Another highlight was the presentation of the Best Paper Awards 2026, recognizing outstanding scientific contributions by early-career researchers.
